Today is a sad day in fashion, legendary designer Oscar De la Renta has passed away. The legendary designer passed away on October 20th from an unknown cause. The designer has been in the industry for fifty years and was one of the great influencers in the fashion industry. The Dominican Designer got his start in the industry at Balenciaga, doing illustrations for the couture house. Soon after he created his first dress for the U.S. ambassador’s daughter, who was featured on the cover of life magazine wearing his dress. Through his past work experience with designers like Antonio del Castillo, Elizabeth Arden and Jane Derby, De la Renta was able to start his own company.   Paris is the place to be at the moment, especially if you are a fan of Tory Burch. Yes! The American designer is expanding her empire to Europe, specifically Paris. Tory Burch was in Paris on Thursday March 27th to get her newest project ready for its April 1st opening, in the Galleries Lafayette. The 300-square-foot shop-in-shop at the landmark department, there has also been construction on a 4,000 square-foot Paris flagship seven- story building 412 Rue Saint-Honore which is on the course to open in early 2015.   With this European venture, Tory Burch has said that she hopes that Europe makes up 20 percent of her business and is in the process of scouting for boutique locations in Milan, Zurich, Frankfurt  and Cannes, France.      In this past year there has been allot of designers that have started making a name for themselves in the industry. One in particular has made a name for herself, Stella Jean. Jean is a former model thatwas born in Rome with not only an Italian background but also Haitian roots.
