Fashion Group New York City Trip : Take 2
On Saturday, April 5, the fashion group took a road trip to New York City. It was a beautiful day, filled with colors, laughter, and intense walking. The first activity on our agenda was to visit FIT and The Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) for their “Elegance in an Age of Crisis: Fashions of the 1930’s.” It was astounding to see the history of fashion during this decade, the garments were incredible. After the museum we stopped into the FIT bookstore and I purchased a couple Vogue magazines from India and Paris. We were then off on the busy streets of NYC. We decided to go to Mood fabrics – (since I had a project in Flat pattern and needed some fabric) it was extremely busy in there but I did get to purchase some floral crochet lace and a Mood fabrics tote bag. Oh, and to my surprise, my sister bought me the Tim Gun’s Fashion Bible book, I love her! Next we decided to go grab some grub at an Irish pub, their quesadillas were so delicious. After being stuffed with heavenly cuisine, we thought it would be a good idea to walk some of those calories off, so we headed to the Macy’s in Herald Square. And in the event that it’s spring, it was the season for Macy’s annual Flower Show. Of course it was exceptionally crowded, but I did manage to squeeze between the mobs and get a couple pictures. Our time in New York City was soon coming to an end so we, Immaculata University Fashion Group, just walked the streets of New York City till we reached the destination where our MegaBus was to pick us up and drive us back to IU. It was a remarkable day in New York City.
Below are some pictures that we were able to snap at FIT, Macy’s Floral Show, and just some random pictures of the days’ activities. Hope you enjoy.
